Daniela Terol
  • The Catalan FCP held the ceremony in which the top representatives of roller sports were awarded.

  • Urban World Series riders Daniela Terol, Cristian Sánchez, Paloma Cantillo and Guifré Obradors were awarded at the fifth Catalan skating awards.

The Catalan skating ceremony brought together 300 guests to honour the most outstanding achievements in skating. The awards were presented to athletes, managers, clubs, referees and judges in the Oriol Martorell hall of the Auditori de Barcelona on Tuesday 20 February. Other important figures such as companies, institutions and prominent figures also received a tribute for their involvement in Catalan Sport.

The current Spanish champion, Paloma Cantillo, received the award for the best female scooter athlete. Third in the Extreme Barcelona 2023, she is one of the leading figures in this discipline. In the men’s category, it was Guifré Obradors who received the award for best athlete, after a year with incredible results such as second place in the Scootering World Championship in the Madrid Urban World Series.

Skateboarders Cristian Sánchez and Daniela Terol were the best athletes in the discipline of skateboarding. The triumph of the Sportcat Extreme 2023 and his long trajectory representing national skateboarding made the Catalan skateboarder win this title. Along with Terol, the two skaters from the Urban World Series family represented Catalan skateboarding at the event.

Barcelona’s Daniela Terol rider also received an honourable mention for a year full of success. Winner of the last edition of Extreme Barcelona 2023 and Urban Madrid 2022, she is currently the Spanish skateboarder with the greatest international projection. The rider has already won the Olympic qualification for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Current Spanish street champion, she was the youngest Extreme Barcelona champion, winning at the age of nine (2018).

The recognition gained by our riders is of great importance in a year when they face great challenges such as the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. On the weekend of 13-15 September, they will also arrive at Extreme Barcelona 2024, the first Urban Sports event after the 2024 Olympics with international level competitions where we hope to see all the riders and enjoy again their competitions and experiences in the Parc del Fòrum.
