  • Good news! Castelldefels City Council is working to make a bigger and more modern skate park that will double the size of the current one: 1,500 m².
  • The works will start in 2025 and will have a budget of 350,000 €.

Best of all, the design was created with the help of the local urban sports community. Participation was encouraged, and ideas from expert athletes across all wheel and urban sports were incorporated, ensuring this skate park is tailored to everyone!

Ready for Olympic competitions

The new space won’t just be for practice and fun; it will have a special certificate that will allow national and international competitions to be organized. You could be skating in the same place as future Olympic champions!

The design was led by architect José Valverde and Urban Agenda, a company run by skateboarder Chris Khan, a Castelldefels resident and user of the current skate park.

“We’ve worked on more than 150 projects worldwide, but this one is special because it’s my city,” Chris commented excitedly.

The project will join the existing skate park with two bowls with different heights and many transfers.

An inclusive place full of surprises

The new skate park will be designed for all ages and levels, from beginners to experts. Highlights include a one-of-a-kind funbox module, the first of its kind in Spain, lighting for night sessions, benches, greenery, and designated graffiti walls.

Let’s hope that the final result will live up to the expectations that are being created.
