Extreme Barcelona and the Barcelona City Council join forces to bring Urban Sports to the schools of the city.

More than 3500 students from 90 schools and institutes of Barcelona were able to enjoy Skate and Scooter with classes and exhibitions.
The 16th anniversary of Extreme Barcelona and the Paris 2024 Olympic Games are just around the corner. Now and since the beginning of the event, our goal is to bring urban sports to as many people as possible, and that’s why once again we have joined forces with the Barcelona City Council and Ungravity Academy to bring Skate and Scooter to the schools of Barcelona.
More than 3500 students from 90 schools and institutes of the city were able to enjoy different days in the Parc del Fòrum and the skate park of Zona Franca. The youngsters, from 3rd of primary school to 1st of Bachillerato, learned the basics to be able to skate and scooter.
The day was divided into different stations, each lasting 30 minutes. The children, always wearing helmets and protective gear, received explanations and practice in crescendo, culminating in an exhibition by some athletes/teachers in the small bowl of the Zona Franca skate park.
The aim of this school program is that children can discover new sports, try different modalities and achieve sporting challenges. In addition, it is also a platform to create the first base of athletes who, in the future, could go far at a competitive level. Especially in a context like the current one, in which both skateboarding and BMX are already Olympic sports, which debuted at the Tokyo Olympics and will also be this summer in Paris 2024.
The 16th anniversary of Extreme Barcelona will once again fill the Parc del Fòrum on the weekend of September 13-15, 2024. It will be a very special edition as it will be the first urban sports event in the world to take place after the Olympics, and it will start just one month after the end of Paris 2024. Those of you who have experienced more than one edition of Extreme Barcelona already know that it is an unmissable event and that there is no better plan after returning from vacation.
