– Devon Smillie took home the gold medal after demonstrating how to skate with precision

– The crowd in the stands enjoyed an exciting final celebrating the riders’ tricks

Last year, after four years without BMX street, the category returned with a bang, led by an impressive performance by Adrian Dunquela. This year, to celebrate the 15th anniversary of Extreme Barcelona, they had to top it, and boy did they do it.

There was €4,400 up for grabs and the competition format included two 45-second rounds and three chances to do the best tricks, where only the best attempt counted!

Nerves were high among both the competitors and the audience, creating a competitive atmosphere that got you hooked and made you stay to watch the final.

Spain was represented by two of the eight competitors who qualified for the final: Fernando Lackzo and Emmanuel Silva. Both gave their all in the street plaza, but could not stop the talented Devon Smillie from the United States.

The Californian rider knew what he was doing and landed every trick with style and fluidity, taking first place with a lead of more than 6 points over the second place rider.

The level continues to rise, which means that in the next edition, the show is guaranteed!
