– The Central Park will host the UCI C1 olympic qualifying tournament and the Spain Cup 2023
– BMX Street makes an appearance for the second consecutive year and is positioned as one of the most important sports of the event

B for BMX, B for Barcelona

The two wheel sports has an idyll with the catalan capital & Extreme Barcelona, which has included it on its sporting program since its first edition in 2008. This year, with the reason for the 15th anniversary of the barcelonian event, BMX will have more competitions and categories than ever, positioning itself as the number one sport of this emblematic urban sports event.

There will be three major competitions that will take place in the Parc del Fòrum and will take place in the two big facilities that make up the event.

The head of this sport will still be the Park modality and the UCI C1 olympic qualifying tournament in Men & Women categories. This competition will be a further step to aspire to the valuable points that will award a spot at the next Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Great athletes such as the Venezuelan Daniel Dhers or the young British Jude Jones are confirmed for the event.

The Park modality will have a second competition this September, since Extreme Barcelona in collaboration with the RFEC (“Real Federación Española de Ciclismo”) will organize the Spain Cup in the Men, Women & Junior categories. Competition where Daniel Peñafiel and Teresa Fernandez are the top favorites.

BMX Street stays

For the second consecutive year, BMX Street will be present in Extreme Barcelona, a modality that’s gaining more importance each time. This edition will have more athletes and a top level, due to the increase of prize pools in awards and the previous work that’s being done by our staff to make this competition possible.

Competition recognized by the highest representative and well-known rider Competición abanderada por el máximo representante y conocido rider Courage Adams, who among other great international exponents, will compete at the Street Plaza during the Qualifiers & Finals.

Four out of the total athletes come from the qualifiers of BMX Street Esportcat Extreme, circuit that during 5 stops around the catalan territory has been in search for the top local talent to give them the chance to compete against the bests of the world. This qualifying tournament has the support of “Consell Català de l’Esport” and has scheduled its last stop at Calafell skatepark the next September 2nd.

BMX is in unbeatable health at Extreme Barcelona and two wheels lovers will have more of a show than ever on the 15th, 16th and 17th of September.
