The Parc del Fòrum will breathe basketball during the weekend of Extreme Barcelona with the arrival of the Plaza 3×3 CaixaBank, the biggest free 3×3 basketball tournament in Spain that arrives on the weekend of La Mercè under the command of the Spanish Basketball Federation. A bet of the organization of the event and CaixaBank that will offer citizens a fun and participatory sporting activity, enriching the offer of practice and spectacle of urban sports.
The CaixaBank 3×3 Plaza, which has become a success in other Spanish cities, will have its own space made up of 6 lanes at the Extreme Barcelona venue. Players of all categories (on Saturday Mini, Infantil, Júnior and Sènior, and on Sunday Pre-mini, Pre-Infantil and Cadet) will enjoy two full days of basketball in front of the audience of the event that will be able to live their passion for this Olympic sport. An activity that will be carried out following the health protocols, to ensure the welfare of all participants and visitors.
From the organization of the Extreme, they wanted to introduce this activity “because we want all the young people of the city to enjoy the basketball party in the urban sports environment. The 3×3 fits per concept within the event and betting on Plaza 3×3 CaixaBank is a guaranteed success due to its previous trajectory, involving thousands of players all over Spain since 2012”, explained Víctor Casanovas, from the management of SevenMila, organizer of the event.

The FEB and CaixaBank launched the Plaza 3×3 program in 2012. Since then, the Plaza 3×3 CaixaBank has become the largest 3×3 basketball circuit in Spain. The new stops in 2019, the last one to be held, raised the figures of this street basketball promotion program to more than 42,000 participants and 200,000 visitors. A very positive balance of this emblematic program, which in its twenty-eight editions has already visited 39 cities throughout Spain.
CaixaBank, a benchmark sponsor of Spanish basketball
