One of the main innovations of the imaginExtreme Barcelona 2016 is its collaboration with the 3STYLEBCN project. It is a skate competition that takes place in the three skateparks of the city: Les Corts, La Mar Bella and Les Roquetes.
This circuit has been created thanks to youth entities of the different districts, with the support of Barcelona City Council, the Consell de l’Esport Escolar de Barcelona, the Foundation Convivim Esportivament, teams of social street educators (APC) and youth organizations and municipal facilities.
With this competition we want to develop the social advancement of young people through sport, as well as provide an opportunity for local riders to show their potential. And so, 3 winners of the tests may participate in the OPEN category of the imaginExtreme Barcelona on 18th and 19th June.
It has been established a base competition format which is subsequently adapted to each of the competitions. In addition, young people are divided into 3 categories:
– Amateur: young people between 12 and 18 years with a low or intermediate level
– Pro: for young people between 12 and 23 years with a high level
– Women
