SKATEBOARDING
Skateboarding has always been one of the pillars of Extreme Barcelona, present since the first edition in 2008. A world-class competition, the event boasts facilities that have seen some of the sport’s greatest talents compete.
More than 100 international and national skaters will gather at Street Plaza from September 5-7 to fight for the gold medal in the three official competition categories: Men’s, Women’s, and Junior.
A 40×15-meter skate plaza built especially for the occasion will be the battleground to crown the new Extreme Barcelona champions.
Spanish skateboarding dominated the women’s competition, as two of the three winners on the podium from the previous edition were Spanish skaters. Valentina Krauel and Natalia Muñoz took home the gold and silver medals, respectively. Czech Laura Zackova took the bronze. While the Europeans shone in the women’s category, South America shined in the men’s category: Chilean Marcelo Jiménez took the gold medal, while Argentines Nacho Lima and Joel de Castro won silver and bronze.
For another year, the junior competition will be held under the name Hot Wheels Superchargers, with the goal of finding and promoting young talent on the board. Alessandro Mudu won the gold medal last year, finishing ahead of Bereket F. De Cuevas and Nil Pla.
Extreme Barcelona will be skater territory in 2025!
