- Nearly 1,000 athletes fill the venue for a weekend packed with high-level competition, music, and urban culture with free admission.
The Parc del Fòrum has kicked off the 18th edition of Extreme Barcelona, bringing together nearly 1,000 athletes for one of the major events of the action sports season. This year’s edition takes a significant leap in category with BMX Park earning UCI Hors Class status, the return of the women’s Scooter competition, and the debut of the Synkro Race, sharing the stage with top international names alongside local talent like Valentina Krauel and Olympian Daniela Terol.
The first qualifying rounds already showcased the high level of competition. In BMX Park, Britain’s Dylan Hessey took top score of the day with 82.32 points, securing his spot in the semifinals ahead of Kieran Reilly and Jordan Clark. Over at the Skate Street plaza, Argentina’s Matías Dell Olio dominated the field, advancing first to Saturday’s semifinals with 71.02 points, closely followed by Danny León and Juan Pablo Gómez.
Right after the skate qualifiers wrapped up, the Best Trick session went down featuring the top riders of the day alongside those who earned their spot yesterday at Plaça Universitat’s Cash4Tricks, with Nacho Lima taking home the win for best trick.
Beyond the action on the courses, the festival continues its strong focus on music and urban culture with live performances from artists like Lildami, Juls, Giadda & Sankki, and Ceaxe. Saturday’s schedule will feature the semifinals and highly anticipated highlights like the BMX Night Jam, paving the way for Sunday’s grand finals in Skateboarding, Scootering, BMX, Streetboard, Breaking, and 3×3 Basketball.
