The countdown is already on, and Barcelona is starting to get ready for one of the most anticipated moments of the year. Just 2 weeks stand between us and one of the biggest events in urban culture. From September 4th to 6th, the city will once again host Extreme Barcelona at the Parc del Fòrum. This year also marks its 18th anniversary, meaning competition and entertainment will be at their absolute peak.
A global showcase of urban sports
Over three days, Barcelona will become an international meeting point for urban sports, with more than 500 athletes from over 40 countries competing across 11 disciplines, featuring men’s, women’s, and mixed categories.
Among them, four Olympic sports stand out: BMX Freestyle, Skateboarding, Breaking, and 3×3 Basketball, alongside disciplines such as Scootering, Para BMX Street, Street Football, Surfskate, Streetboard, and Roller Skate.
As a new addition, the event will also feature the Synkro Race, celebrating its first edition within the venue. This is a fast-growing hybrid team race that combines running segments with strength-based exercise stations, delivering a dynamic and different format within the festival.
Much more than competition
But Extreme Barcelona is much more than sport. The festival delivers an open experience where the audience plays a leading role. The Colonnade area will be transformed into a large free-access space featuring open parks, pump tracks, and miniramps, along with participatory activities such as open competitions, street football, basketball zones, surfskate, robot battles, and the Street Mobility Zone.
This is complemented by a full market area with more than 20 exhibitors, food trucks, and brand activations, creating a vibrant and dynamic space with options for all audiences.
Music, art and urban culture live
In addition, urban culture will extend beyond the competition areas. Live music and DJ sets will set the rhythm of the weekend, while art will have its own space through live exhibitions, creative workshops, and initiatives such as the Revorn Street Gallery, alongside areas dedicated to graffiti and artistic expression.
This program is complemented by the musical lineup curated by LOS40, which will accompany some of the weekend’s key moments. On Saturday the 5th, the Street Plaza will host LILDAMI from 17:05 to 17:25, as a prelude to the Skate Men final, followed by JULS from 19:05 to 19:25, just before the Scootering Street Men final.
On Sunday the 6th, the Central Park stage will feature Giadda & Sankki from 16:35 to 16:55 ahead of the BMX Men final, and Ceaxe from 18:05 to 18:25 before the Scooter Men Park final, completing a program that seamlessly blends music and sport during the event’s most exciting moments.
Free access and VIP option
The best part is that access is completely free for everyone, meaning there is no excuse to miss the chance to experience the biggest urban culture event in Europe from the inside during September 4th–6th.
For those looking to take the experience to the next level, the festival also offers the VIP Experience, managed by Concept Club, an exclusive area with privileged views of the competitions, open bar, and priority access to the finals, designed to enjoy the event in full comfort. Spots are limited, so if you want to secure yours, you can get it via this link and get ready for an unforgettable weekend.
