  • Barcelona is getting ready to vibrate with the last stop of the National League of Surf Skate.

  • From September 13 to 15, the best Surf Skaters in the country will meet with the public who want to try this modality, in the Parc del Fòrum.

Extreme Barcelona, the most emblematic urban sports festival in the city, celebrates its 16th edition with another great novelty: the incorporation of Surf Skate as a new official sport in the event.

For three days, the Parc del Fòrum will become the protagonist of this new discipline, in which the best athletes in the country will compete for medals.

A unique spectacle

Surf Skate is a discipline that combines technique, creativity and style. Athletes perform tricks with a strong influence of Surfing and Skateboarding.

The competition will bring together the best surf skaters in Spain, who will test their tricks and rounds, and seek to be crowned champions in the 5th and final stop of the National League:

1st stop – Drop Sopela (25/5/2024).

2nd stop – La Bodega (1/6/2024)

3rd stop – Wax Dayz (7-9/6/2024)

4th stop – Navon skate park (27/7/2024)

5th stop – Extreme Barcelona (13-15/9/2024)

“We are very excited about the addition of Surf Skate to our flagship event, Extreme Barcelona, especially because this championship represents the most important event of the year for the community of athletes of this discipline in Spain. We are convinced that the format and sporting essence of the National Surf Skate League fits perfectly with the other urban sports we offer at our event, and that the spectators in Barcelona will enjoy the tricks of all the athletes.”

Toni Alvarez – Extreme Barcelona Sports Director

The National League of Surf Skate and Urban World Series join forces to bring for the first time to Extreme Barcelona this booming discipline.

The surf skate is a type of skateboarding that combines the best of surfing with skateboarding. It is practiced on a special board that simulates the sensations you would have on a surfboard, thanks to an axis designed specifically for it. These surfskates allow you to experience movements similar to those you would do in the water, even when there are no waves. They are ideal for improving your technique on asphalt and progressing in surfing faster.

“The entry of Surf Skate and the National Surf Skate League, organized by the Arima Sports Club in Extreme Barcelona, represents a milestone in the popularization of this discipline in Spain. It fosters competition and the growth of surf skate at a national level, offering a platform for emerging talents. The sensations revolve around excitement and adrenaline, combining the technique of surfing with the versatility of skateboarding.”

Aitor Gonzalez, President of Arima Surf Sports Club, based in Pineda de Mar, Barcelona.
