• From 15 to 17 September, Parc del Fòrum will host a free programme full of sport and urban culture

Extreme Barcelona is celebrating its 15th anniversary on 15, 16 and 17 September at the Parc del Fòrum with more sports, activities and a bigger show than ever at a key moment for athletes who are on the verge of Olympic qualification.

The urban sports event par excellence promises a frenetic weekend of competitions with free admission for the public to enjoy the urban sports that will be present at the Olympic Games.

Bmx, Breaking, Scootering, Basket 3×3 and Skateboarding, five sports that will once again conquer the Parc del Fòrum with a tight programme throughout the weekend that will also be broadcast worldwide.

The great BMX champions won’t miss out on the event

Extreme Barcelona’s Central Park will host the UCI C1 International BMX Men & Women and the Spanish BMX Freestyle Park Championships in the Men, Women & Junior categories. Nikita Ducarroz, Keiran Reilly, Charlotte Worthington and Daniel Dhers have already confirmed their attendance and are riders to be taken into account and who will surely go down in the history of this modality.

BMX Street will also be one of the official sports of Extreme Barcelona after its inclusion in 2022. This competition will have great international references who are ready to demonstrate the great potential of this sport in the Street Plaza.

*On Thursday 14th it will host official training sessions, on Friday 15th the qualifiers and on Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th the semi-finals and finals.

Extreme Barcelona welcomes inclusive and adapted sport

The 15th anniversary of Extreme will include for the first time the BMX Street championship, a pioneer in Europe, designed to promote and highlight inclusive and adapted sport alongside Project111, 360bs and for BMX Freestyle where international disabled athletes will come together to showcase the culture of dedication and competitive passion by showcasing their best tricks in the different modules of the Street Plaza. Julian Molina, a big name in the sport, will attend as an ambassador for the event.

First stop of the Scootering Pro Tour

Extreme Barcelona joins forces with World Skate and the Royal Spanish Skating Federation to organise the first stop of the international Scootering Pro Tour. The two big stages of the Parc del Fòrum will host the competitions that award points for the world championship in the categories Men, Women and Junior in its two main competitive modalities: Park and Street.

*The Scootering Pro Tour will host the qualifiers on Friday and the semi-finals and finals on Saturday and Sunday in Central Park and Street Plaza.

The Breaking lands with the best Spanish talent

The Breaking Stage will see the best Spanish Breaking talent make a stop on their way to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. The city will host the Spanish Breaking 2023 Championship, which in its two absolute categories Bboy and Bgirl will award the winners a place in the 2023 World Championship, an event that awards the maximum number of qualifying points for Paris 2024.

*It will take place at the Breaking Stage on Saturday 16 September with training, pre-selection and final stages.

Skateboarding, a long-awaited historical mainstay

Skateboarding has always been one of the pillars of Extreme Barcelona and a reference competition worldwide. More than 100 skaters will gather in the Street Plaza during the 15th, 16th and 17th of September to fight for the gold medal in the three categories that will have official competition: Men, Women and Junior.

The junior competition will be held under the name of Hot Wheels Superchargers and will be the grand finale of the 2023 calendar.

*Thursday will host the training sessions and on Saturday and Sunday the qualifiers and finals in the Street Plaza.

Basket 3×3 by the hand of CaixaBank and Ball Inn

The Basket 3×3 comes from the hand of Plaza 3×3 CaixaBank that will activate on Saturday 16th September the biggest free 3×3 circuit in the open air by the hand of CaixaBank and the Spanish Basketball Federation. The aim of this circuit is to promote this type of basketball, which is becoming increasingly popular in Spain’s cities.

On Sunday 17th it will be the turn of Ball Inn to bring Basket Street to Extreme Barcelona, offering a day full of competitions and activities for everyone, especially for basketball lovers with 1vs1 tournaments, wheelchair basketball exhibition, Skill sessions, Slam Dunk contest, All-Star Game and Giveaway Contest, so that the public can participate in many of the activities and have a unique experience. All of this will take place in the Parc del Fòrum colonnade area.

A 15th anniversary with the public as the protagonist

The public will have more activities and cultural offerings than ever, with proposals adapted to all audiences, from the most experienced in urban sports to those who want to take their first steps on their skateboard or scooter.

The Parc del Fòrum’s colonnaded esplanade will become a small urban sports theme park with three open parks, the Skate Hub Surf Skate, Pump Tracks, Markets, Foodtrucks and bars to make the most of the weekend.

Music is not to be missed

On Sunday 17th from 16h to 20h Extreme Barcelona will have the collaboration of Stalow Fest, the non-profit youth association dedicated to the organization of events and the creation of content related to Hip Hop. An exciting day of urban music and freestyle where there will be concerts by emerging artists and freestyle battle competitions.
