The countdown is entering its final stretch. There is just one week left until Extreme Barcelona returns to the Parc del Fòrum, from September 4 to 6, in a very special edition celebrating its 18th anniversary. Three days in which the city will once again become one of the major international benchmarks for urban sports.
And the signal is clear: the Parc del Fòrum has already started to come alive with event preparations, and little by little the space is beginning to change pace. The atmosphere of Extreme Barcelona can already be felt… even before it officially begins.
The world of urban sports comes together in Barcelona
This year’s edition has brought together more than 500 athletes from over 40 countries, who will arrive in the city to turn the Fòrum venue into the ultimate international stage for urban sports over three days.
The competition will once again feature a highly packed programme, with 11 disciplines and nearly 30 events, combining men’s, women’s and mixed categories in a continuous competition format.
Among the sports setting the tone for the weekend are the festival’s core Olympic disciplines: BMX Freestyle, Skateboarding, Breaking and 3×3 Basketball, alongside other increasingly prominent disciplines such as Scootering, Street Football, Surfskate, Streetboard, Roller Skate and the Synkro Race, which this year makes its debut edition, adding a more dynamic format to the programme.
The inclusive side of the event also plays a key role with the presence of Parabmx (adaptive BMX), returning for its third consecutive year alongside Parabmx, Proyecto 11, 360bs and North Point, further establishing itself as one of the most inspiring competitions of the festival.
A space to be experienced: the Fòrum as an urban playground
During the three days of the festival, the more than 18,000 m² of the Column Explanade will be transformed into a large open space where the public can freely move between activities, take part in different experiences, and become part of the event’s unique atmosphere.
Ramps, Open Parks, practice zones, street football, basketball courts, the Street Mobility Zone, market areas and food trucks all coexist in a constantly active environment, creating a continuous flow of sport, leisure and urban culture in every corner.
Among the highlighted experiences, the Surf Skate area with BCN Surf School returns as one of the most active spots of the festival, featuring open initiation sessions, competitions and live showcases, bringing this discipline closer to the public in an accessible, dynamic and participatory way.
Live art at Extreme Barcelona
Creativity once again takes center stage within the festival, as POSCA returns for the second consecutive year with its own space in the experiential area (first floor), where the public can take part in workshops, giveaways, activations and hands-on creative experiences happening in real time.
In addition, the brand strengthens its connection with the Revorn Street Gallery, an artistic space within the festival where different creators develop their work live in front of the audience.
In this environment, POSCA markers once again become a key tool in the creation of collaborative murals, live painting sessions and live artistic performances, turning the area into a constant hub of urban expression.
Music, finals and defining moments
Music once again plays a key role at Extreme Barcelona, accompanying some of the most decisive moments of the weekend thanks to LOS40, which will set the rhythm for several of the festival’s major finals.
On Saturday 5, the Street Plaza will host two standout performances: LILDAMI, from 17:05 to 17:25, as a prelude to the Skate Men final, followed by JULS, from 19:05 to 19:25, just before the Scootering Street Men final, creating a direct transition between music and competition.
On Sunday 6, the action moves to the Central Park, where Giadda & Sankki will perform from 16:35 to 16:55, ahead of the BMX Men final, followed by Ceaxe, from 18:05 to 18:25, before the Scooter Men Park final, closing a weekend where music and sport meet at the festival’s key moments.

Access to Extreme Barcelona is free, with no barriers and no excuses.
However, for those looking to experience the event at another level, the VIP Experience by Concept Club offers privileged views, an open bar, chill-out area and priority access to the finals.
