The festival will bring together over 500 athletes from more than 40 countries, feature four Olympic disciplines, and once again turn Barcelona into the international epicenter of urban sports.
Barcelona, July 13, 2026. Extreme Barcelona today presented the official image, the new edition’s video, and the sports program for Extreme Barcelona 2026, which will celebrate its 18th anniversary consolidated as one of Europe’s major urban sports festivals. The event will bring together over 500 athletes from more than 40 countries, offer 11 sports disciplines, and once again position Barcelona as one of the main international stages for urban culture and sports.

This edition’s sports program reinforces the festival’s evolution with a broader and more diverse proposal that combines international competitions, Olympic disciplines, and new trends in urban sports. In total, Extreme Barcelona will host nearly 30 competitions across men’s, women’s, and mixed categories, reaffirming its commitment to an increasingly diverse and inclusive lineup.
Among the disciplines included in the program, four Olympic sports stand out: BMX Freestyle, Skateboarding, Breaking, and 3×3 Basketball. They will share the spotlight with other festival modalities such as Scootering, Para BMX Street, Street Football, and Synkro Race, shaping one of the most comprehensive sports lineups in the event’s history.
Once again, the Parc del Fòrum esplanade will become the grand stage for Extreme Barcelona. For three days, the venue’s more than 18,000 m² will host international sports competitions alongside a wide range of leisure activities and experiences for all audiences, featuring a market zone with a record number of exhibitors, food trucks, urban culture activities, workshops, and spaces where attendees can experience some of the festival’s disciplines firsthand.

“The Barcelona City Council has supported Extreme Barcelona since its inception, and that is why this year we are very proud to celebrate its 18th anniversary. Our city knows how to do things differently, and the Extreme is an excellent example of this. From the beginning, we have committed not only to hosting the competition but also to creating infrastructure for urban sports and specific programs that have seen the birth of stars like Daniela Terol, among others. Over these 18 years, we have incorporated new disciplines so that families can discover and experience different sports completely free of charge,” recalled David Escudé, Sports Councilor of the Barcelona City Council.
The director of Extreme Barcelona, Víctor Casanovas, stated that “reaching the 18th anniversary demonstrates the consolidation of a project that has managed to evolve at the pace of urban sports and adapt to new trends without losing its essence. This year, we are giving a new boost to the festival with four new disciplines and a more ambitious sports program than ever. Our goal is to keep growing and exceed the 2025 spectator numbers, consolidating Extreme Barcelona as one of the major European events for urban sports. We will once again transform the over 18,000 m² of the Parc del Fòrum into a massive space for sport, urban culture, and entertainment, designed for families, fans, and visitors to live a unique experience. Because, beyond the competition, the true protagonist of Extreme Barcelona is always the public.”
The presentation also featured the participation of Sander Waare, director of the Cruyff Foundation.
With a reinforced sports program, new disciplines, and a growing international dimension, Extreme Barcelona 2026 heads into a new edition aiming to continue establishing itself as a benchmark urban sports festival in Europe and to surpass the participation and attendance records set in previous editions.
