Breaking is a type of dance that is part of hip hop culture, along with graffiti, rap, and DJing. This element originated in the African-American communities of New York neighborhoods like the Bronx and Brooklyn, in the United States, in the 1970s. In recent years, breaking reached its peak when it was named an Olympic discipline by the IOC, making its debut at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. This milestone gave it prominence after years of constant evolution, so the Urban Stage at the Parc del Fòrum will become the epicenter of this spectacular, ever-growing discipline.
