Extreme Barcelona 2025, taking place from September 5–7, is just around the corner. Since the beginning of the event, our goal has been to bring urban sports to as many people as possible. That’s why, once again, we’ve teamed up with the Barcelona City Council and the Consell de l’Esport Escolar to bring skateboarding and scootering to the schools of Barcelona.

Over 3,100 students from schools and high schools across the city have taken part in sessions at the Parc del Fòrum and at the La Marina skatepark in the Zona Franca. Students, ranging from 3rd grade of primary school to 1st year of high school, learned the basics of how to ride a skateboard and scooter.

The day was divided into different stations, each lasting 30 minutes.
The children, always equipped with helmets and protective gear, received instructions and practiced at different skill levels, finishing with a demonstration by some athletes/instructors at the small Bowl in the Zona Franca skatepark and at the Fòrum skatepark.

The aim of this school program is for children to discover new sports, try out different disciplines, and achieve personal sporting goals. Moreover, it serves as a platform to build the first foundation of athletes who, in the future, could reach high levels of competition—especially in today’s context, where both skateboarding and BMX are Olympic sports. They made their debut at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, continued in Paris 2024, and will be part of the Los Angeles 2028 Games.
