• More than 50 riders pulled out all the stops to win a share of the €1,400 up for grabs

  • Skateboarder Johan Mogollon and scooter rider Jack Walsh were the undisputed winners

This Wednesday afternoon, in the same square where the Extreme Barcelona press conference was held the day before, a cash4tricks took place, packed with riders and public that anticipated a little bit of the adrenaline festival that is about to come this weekend in the Parc del Fórum.

Around 50 skateboarders and scooter riders came to the Plaza Universitaria to give it their all (some literally) and pull out their best tricks. In turns, they paraded around the now familiar baton-shaped module, and as the name of cash4tricks suggests, those who landed the most outrageous tricks were rewarded with cash, with a total of €700 up for grabs in each category. At 18h it was the turn of skateboarding. The audience made it clear that if there is one urban sport that Barcelona has mastered, it is this one. The crowd went absolutely crazy with riders like Nacho Lima and Bruno Vinicius. When it seemed that things could not go any further, Johan Mogollon, who already had the audience expectant, has marked a heart attack trick that has driven everyone crazy, and that has made him without any doubt the clear winner.

An hour later, at 19h, the scooter riders started to get ready, with well-known riders such as Guifré Obradors and Sophie Molyneux, already well-known names in our family. The participation of promising young riders such as Hugo Llopart, who we have been following in EsportCat, or Omar Yassine, who is surely the one who has tried the most tricks. The riders had come out on top and put their necks on the line with outrageous manoeuvres with which more than one of them ended up getting fond of the ground. It was Jack Walsh, the young rider who won this year’s Mus, who went home not only with the winner’s prize, but also with all the warmth of the crowd cheering him on. Will he do a double at Extreme Barcelona?

No doubt more than one of you have been left wanting more, and that has an easy solution, because the party continues this weekend at the 15th anniversary of Extreme Barcelona from the 15th to the 17th and for free.

Are you going to miss it?
