En honor al Día Internacional de la Mujer el 8 de marzo, Extreme Barcelona se enorgullece de celebrar los increíbles logros de ocho excepcionales atletas femeninas que están marcando nuevos estándares en sus deportes. Estas mujeres no son solo competidoras, son pioneras que inspiran a las futuras generaciones con su dedicación, habilidad y perseverancia.

Women Making History in Urban Sports

Nikita Ducarroz, hailing from Switzerland, has become a dominant force in the BMX world. Known for her fearless approach and innovative tricks, she secured a gold medal at the 2021 X Games, making history in the process and winning UWS Extreme Barcelona 2022 and 2024. Supported by major brands such as Red Bull and Mongoose Bicycles, Ducarroz’s impact on the sport is undeniable.

Charlotte Worthington is a BMX freestyle powerhouse who has made history with her groundbreaking tricks and fearless riding style. Hailing from the UK, she became a global sensation after winning gold at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, where she landed the first-ever 360 backflip in women’s competition. Her influence extends to events like Extreme Barcelona (bronze medal in 2022), where she continues to push the boundaries of BMX with her technical precision and innovative approach. With numerous titles and a strong presence in the sport, Charlotte is an inspiration to aspiring riders worldwide.

Daniela Terol, from Spain, is a rising star in both street and park competitions. Her technical skills and consistency have earned her a strong following in the skateboarding community, and her sponsorships, including from brands like Skatepro and Verb Skateboards, reflect her prominence in the sport. Daniela Terol has had a remarkable trajectory in Extreme Barcelona competitions, achieving significant milestones at a young age. In 2018, at just 9 years old, she made her debut and clinched the championship, becoming the youngest rider to win at Extreme Barcelona. She continued her success by winning the event again in 2023. Additionally, Daniela secured victory at the Madrid Urban Sports in 2022, further establishing herself as one of Spain’s most promising skateboarders. Her consistent performances have solidified her status as a leading figure in the skateboarding community. 

Roos Zwetsloot from the Netherlands is known for her creative style and competitive edge. She has competed in some of the biggest skateboarding events worldwide and is sponsored by well-known brands like Cariuma and Decathlon. Her consistency and innovation continue to push the boundaries of female skateboarding.

Roos won both Urban World Series events in 2022: Extreme Barcelona and MUS.

Valentina Krauel, a 15-year-old skateboarder from Barcelona, has rapidly ascended in the European skateboarding scene. In 2024, she clinched the gold medal in the women’s skate category at Extreme Barcelona, delivering an outstanding performance despite facing challenging circumstances. Her remarkable summer also included victories at the Mystic Sk8 Cup in Prague and O Marisquiño in Vigo, solidifying her status as a rising star in the sport. Valentina’s achievements not only highlight her exceptional talent but also contribute to the growing prominence of women’s skateboarding in Europe.

Sophie Molyneux is a prominent British scooter athlete renowned for her exceptional skills and contributions to the sport. Representing Blunt & Envy Scooters, she has consistently showcased her talent in various competitions. Notably, Sophie clinched the gold medal in the Women’s Street category at the Scootering Pro Tour in Extreme Barcelona 2023, demonstrating her prowess on challenging courses. Her achievements have solidified her status as one of the UK’s top scooter riders to watch, inspiring a new generation of athletes in the scootering community.

Lucy Evans, from the UK, is another standout talent in the scooter scene. Known for her technical prowess and smooth execution, Evans is making a name for herself as one of the best in the sport. She won the 2021 Scootering World Championship at Extreme Barcelona.

With sponsorships from District Scooters, Evans is setting a new standard for female riders.

Ana Furia, one of Spain’s leading breakers, has made waves in the breaking scene with her precision and dynamic style. As breaking becomes part of the Olympic movement, Furia has positioned herself as a key figure in the sport. Her creative expression and fierce competitive spirit have earned her sponsorships from top brands, and her influence continues to grow as she inspires a new generation of female breakers. 

Ana won the Spanish Championship in Extreme Barcelona 2024.

These extraordinary athletes are not only making history in their sports but also paving the way for future generations of female competitors. Extreme Barcelona is thrilled to have them join us at this year’s event as we celebrate their remarkable achievements and contributions to the world of extreme sports.
