The Spanish BMX Championships held this Saturday at the Parc del Fòrum in Barcelona crowned Saul Vilar and Teresa Fernández-Miranda as the new national champions in the men’s and women’s categories.
In the men’s category, Saul Vilar claimed a clear victory after earning a score that allowed him to surpass Pol Díaz, who took silver, and Jaime Francisco, who completed the podium with bronze. Vilar has grown within Extreme Barcelona: he won in the junior category a few years ago and has steadily progressed to become Spanish champion and reach the semifinals in the UCI C1 competition. His consistency and precision on the track shone before an enthusiastic crowd in the stands of Central Park.

In the women’s category, Teresa Fernández-Miranda defended her Spanish champion title from last year and once again claimed victory after a strong performance that gave her the edge over Laura Carrera, who finished second, and Maialen Seisdedos, who completed the podium. Fernández-Miranda displayed an excellent technical level, consolidating herself as one of the leading figures in women’s BMX in Spain.
Saturday also featured the junior finals, where Izan de la Fuente took gold, followed by Darío de la Fuente and Daniel Pedroche, confirming that the national talent pool continues to grow strongly.
