Extreme Barcelona, the most emblematic urban sports festival in the city, celebrates its 16th edition with another great novelty: the incorporation of Victoria Shoes as Official Sponsor and Official Footwear Partner of the event.
For three days, Barcelona and the Parc del Fòrum will become the absolute protagonist of Urban Sports: Skate, BMX, Scooter, Breaking, Surf Skate, Basket 3×3 and Freestyle Trampoline.
A unique brand
In 1915, in a small town in La Rioja, in the north of Spain, Gregorio had the idea of creating a shoe that he named after his first love, his wife Victoria.
In an effort to improve the traditional espadrilles that were produced at the time with a rubber sole, the recently invented technique of vulcanization was incorporated in the 1950s. It was then that the legendary Victoria canvas shoe was born, which in the 1980s became the symbol of an entire generation.
The “V” for victory has been present on our sneakers since almost the beginning of our history, the oldest record we have is from 1977. In 1985 we registered our signature two-tone “V”, almost 40 years later, we paid tribute to it with a collection of retro-spirited sneakers inspired by our models from the 80s.
An event for the whole family
Extreme Barcelona is a free event open to the public and entry to the Parc del Fòrum is free, making this festival a unique opportunity to enjoy a weekend full of adrenaline, music and entertainment for the whole family.
This year there will be international competitions in Skateboarding and Scootering, C1 World BMX Competition, Spanish Breaking and BMX Championship, Freestyle Trampoline World Championship, skate parks open to the public, Market, Foodtrucks and much more!
