Breaking is a type of dance that is part of hip hop culture, along with graffiti, rap, and DJing. This element originated in the African-American communities of New York neighborhoods like the Bronx and Brooklyn, in the United States, in the 1970s. In recent years, breaking reached its peak when it was named an Olympic discipline by the IOC, making its debut at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. This milestone gave it prominence after years of constant evolution, so the Urban Stage at the Parc del F\u00f2rum will become the epicenter of this spectacular, ever-growing discipline. The Barcelona event, one of the most iconic urban sports events in Europe, celebrates its 17th edition, once again supporting this dance style, which was an Olympic favorite at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, by hosting the Catalan Championship for the second consecutive year.<\/p>\n
The BreakingFCBE (Breaking Commission of the Catalan Dance Sport Federation) and Urban World Series are once again joining forces to celebrate the most important championship on the Breaking calendar in Catalonia.<\/p>\n
In 2024, BBoy Mou G took gold in the senior category, and this year, the Catalan Championship will feature the following categories:<\/p>\n
